MCA Architects were engaged by DecoCorp Constructions to develop construction documentation from an existing concept design for the renovation of and additions to the existing veterinary compounding laboratories. The design scope also included new admin areas and amenities, and expanded packaging facility. The laboratories were originally designed to Clean Room ISO Class 8 design principles, USP Chapters 795, and 800 for non-sterile compounding with hazardous substances.

During detailed design phase, the Client raised new scope for integration into the design, raising cost concerns. A value engineering process refined the essential Client needs, and what scope needed to be cut to suit the client budget. The Client was very positive on MCA’s communication, design, accuracy, and program management. Stage 1 of construction, including admin, amenities and packaging facility was completed on mid-August 2020 with stages 2 and 3 in November 2020.
