E8A-2 Laboratory Macquarie University

The Dept of Biomolecular Sciences and Dept of Biological Sciences at Macquarie University required upgrade of existing facilities across the entire floor plate at building E8A2. MCA worked closely with Faculty to flesh out detailed user requirements, which included 1100m2 of laboratory and support spaces including:

  • 3 main labs

  • Ancillary labs including Radio Isotope Lab, HPLC/Spectrometer Lab, and Sequencer Lab spaces

  • Specialist Gel Prep and Washup Areas

  • Cool Room and Dangerous Goods storage

  • 12 Offices and workspaces for up to 45 HDR students

  • PC2 certification

These facilities were designed and certified with the Office of Gene Technology Research, increasing the University’s capacity for microbiological research.
